Halfway the Kjölur route (F35) we passed a monument, which also seems to indicate the highest point on this route. Here you have a nice panoramic view of the Langjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers.
The Kjölur is a highland road in Iceland. It is the second longest of the roads through the Highlands of Iceland. It begins in the south of Iceland near Haukadalur and behind the Gullfoss waterfall, and it ends in the north near Blönduós. The road traverses the interior between two glaciers, Langjökull and Hofsjökull.
