Holiday Cycling Adventures - Panoramic Picture - 2005 - Angels Landing (Zion National Park)

This panoramic picture has been taken on top of Angels Landing of Zion National Park. The Angels Landing Trail is one of the most famous and thrilling hikes in the national park system. Zion's pride and joy runs along a narrow rock fin with dizzying drop-offs on both sides. The trail culminates at a lofty perch, boasting magnificent views in every direction. (The trail is not suggested for children or those with a fear of heights).

Zion National Park is a United States National Park located in the Southwestern United States, near Springdale, Utah. A prominent feature in the 229-square-mile (593 km²) park is Zion Canyon, 15 miles (24 km) long and up to half a mile (800 m) deep, cut through the reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone by the North Fork of the Virgin River.

We entered Zion National Park from the Zion - Mount Carmel Highway (Highway 9). There is a long tunnel on this road through which you're not allowed to cycle (Rangers are there to stop you). You'll have to stop a car and try to get them to take you through the tunnel. After the tunnel there is a very nice descent into the Zion Canyon.
